Current performance
We are still issuing speeding tickets - 21,854 in 2010 - but casualties are reducing at camera sites. There has been a 74% reduction in people being killed or seriously injured across all safety camera locations since the Partnership formed in 2002.
To us, the most successful camera site would be one that doesn't generate any tickets, as it would mean that nobody is breaking the law.

The Partnership is about casualty reduction; not making money. It is important that we gain the support and co-operation from you, the public, so that we can achieve our aim of reducing crashes and casualties at safety camera sites.
Public opinion survey
At the end of 2010 an independent survey (through BMG Research) was carried out amongst a sample of Kent residents concerning satisfaction with the conditions of roads, pavements and street lighting, perceptions of congestion, and safety cameras. Research was also carried out with County Members, Parish / Town Councillors and District Councillors.
To summarise, around 55% of people thought that safety cameras are helping to make Kent's roads safer. A breakdown per audience can be seen here - Kent County Council Survey 2010
The last full independent Partnership survey, looking a various aspects of safety cameras, was carried out in 2008 and the results can be seen here - K&MSCP Survey 2008.
