Motorists warned of temporary speed limit and safety cameras during East Kent Access road works
Motorists are advised that from Tuesday 7 June 2025 there will be a temporary 30mph speed limit in Ramsgate on the A299 between Minster roundabout and Cliffsend North while the East Kent Access Phase 2 road works are carried out.

SIx points and £500 fine for motorist driving at twice the speed limit
A speeding motorist has been fined £500 and given six penalty points for travelling at nearly double the speed limit through the average speed cameras on the A228 Isle of Grain in Rochester. Barry Maplesden, 51, of Dobbie Close, Sittingbourne, appeared at Medway Magistrates Court on 15 November charged with driving at 78mph in the 40mph limit on 2 August this year. Penalty points and £990 fine as speeding motorist loses court case
A speeding motorist who had already clocked up six points on his licence through speeding tickets was yesterday fined a total of £990 and given an additional three points after contesting a speeding ticket at Dartford Magistrates Court.

Young motorists most supportive of safety cameras
Young people have a more positive attitude to safety cameras than older drivers, according to the latest survey of driver opinions on safety cameras from the IAM (Institute of Advanced Motorists). The results show that 17 to 24 year-olds give the best approval ratings overall while older drivers tend to be the least supportive, with drivers over 45 giving the lowest approval ratings.
