| About the campaign
Young drivers are prone to killing or injuring themselves, their passengers and other road users in crashes. In the last three years alone more than 490 young people (aged 17-24) have been killed or seriously injured on roads in Kent and Medway. One of the biggest contributory factors in all road crashes is inappropriate speed.
The 'Grow up. Slow down' campaign is based on the outcome of research carried out earlier in the year among drivers aged 17 to 24. The research concluded that the worst thing they thought could happen if they were driving too fast and crashed their car was that they could kill or injure another person, particularly a child.
