The Kent & Medway Safety Camera Partnership (K&MSCP) recently received a unexpected call from road haulage and distribution experts Alan Firmin Ltd. Alan Firmin Ltd had just undertaken delivery of a new fleet of vehicles and trailers, and as part of its on-going corporate social responsibility programme has decided to donate a trailer with side curtains to 'Cut the Crashes', the latest phase of K&MSCP's campaign aimed at improving business related driving on Kent's roads, 'Driving Business Safely'.
The trailer wall curtaining has been liveried with a road safety message highlighting the campaign and K&MSCP's website address, cutthecrashes.com. The website is a one stop shop for information on safe driving practices for employees and drivers. Free registration enables drivers and business owners to download a range of resources aimed at business road users.
Alan Firmin's Fleet Operations Manager, Stuart Joyce commented on the trailer and affiliation with the camera partnership. "We have a huge fleet of lorries and vans on the roads every day in the UK and road safety is paramount. We have excellent driver training and on-going safety assessments for all of our drivers and take our role on the road very seriously. By donating the side curtaining to the camera partnership we want to demonstrate that responsibility and support the partnership in helping extend the message to reduce crashes and save lives."
Katherine Barrett, Communications Officer for Kent & Medway Safety Camera Partnership commented. "We would like to thank Alan Firmin for its support. This vehicle will take our important road safety message to the roads of Kent and keep it visible to our target audience. We now have over 600 businesses that have joined our campaign to make Kent's roads safer. Support like this is an endorsement to how serious businesses in Kent take their responsibilities on the road."
The new trailer will be used more extensively on Kent's roads to ensure the message targets road users in Kent and those passing through.
